Professional Leadership Dialogue Programme With John West Burnham

PLP is proud to be working in partnership with John West Burnham from 2018 into 2019. John is an independent writer, teacher and consultant in education leadership. An author, co-author or editor of 27 books including Rethinking Educational Leadership and Leadership Dialogues, he has worked in 27 countries. He is a director of three academy trusts and a trustee of two educational charities. John is Honorary Professor in the Institute of Education, University of Worcester.
John will facilitate a suite of professional learning sessions for headteachers/principals. John to work with leaders to explore themes, determined by them or provoked by John. Enabling professional learning and support. Leaders will be encouraged to engage in guided reading between sessions to develop their thinking, as offered by John. The working culture will be based on evidence informed leadership practice.
The sessions will comprise:
Opportunities to share emerging issues in school on a Chatham House/ peer support basis ( e.g. policies on mobile phones, well-being)
Updates on research, publications and policy changes.
- Focused dialogue on agreed themes supported by access to appropriate literature.)
Comprising a suite of twilight sessions, hosted at a Peterborough venue (TBC), each will allow for deep professional learning with a focus on leadership. Themes will be set by the group, supported by John's research and own professional provocations. Sessions will be linked with guided reading; sourced by John to support, challenge and stimulate the dialogue.
Places are limited to 12 colleagues (with a maximum of 2 colleagues from each school), enabling an effective group dynamic.
£50 per PLP delegate (up to 2 delegates per school per session)
£100 per non-PLP delegate (up to 2 delegates per school per session)
