Changing the Dialogue From Need to Responsive Outcomes & Provision led by Anita Devi
- No Forthcoming Dates
- SENCO, SEND
- Leadership, Teaching & Learning
The aim of these two days is to explore in detail the Four Areas of Need identified in the SEND Code of Practice (p97-98).
As the SENDCOP states “These four broad areas give an overview of the range of needs that should be planned for. The purpose of identification is to work out what action the school needs to take, not to fit a pupil into a category.”
In each session we will explore what it is, assessment, writing outcomes, interventions and case studies (i.e. the Graduated Approach in practice). Open to primary and secondary SENCOs
Day 1: 15th January 2019 Cognition & Learning and Communication & Interaction
Day 2: 11th February 2019 Physical & sensory and Social, Emotional Mental Health
There will be a “gap-task” between the 2 days, where SENCOs will be invited to examine needs & provision in their schools, and to disseminate CPD to colleagues using ideas from Day 1.
Attending participants will have access to a dedicated password protected website which will provide a range of resources and materials for SENCOs to use in their settings. Assuming this is how you share conference materials? If not, I can set up a portal.
Preparation Task: Attendees will be asked to bring a good practice example and/or case study to share.
PLP delegate: £125 per day
Non PLP delegate: £200 per day
