Led by: Amanda Fitton (RE & SACRE Adviser) and Julia Ewans (Humanist)

Objectives:

To expand knowledge and understanding of Humanism

To consider how Humanism can be taught in the Primary setting

To relate the knowledge to AT1 and AT2 in the classroom

Session outline;

This training event will be with Julia Ewans and Amanda Fitton. The emphasis will be on creative and challenging ideas for the classroom and to expand knowledge of Humanism with two specialists. Julia will explain the ethos behind Humanism and explore what Humanists believe. These ideas will then be linked by Amanda to AT1 and AT2, the agreed syllabus. and how these can be taught creatively and effectively in the primary setting.
